ERCOT Sets Three Peak Demand Records In One Day

ERCOT established three records for July peak demand last week in three consecutive hours, ultimately hitting 68,799 MW between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on July 20. But officials of the Texas grid operator said that despite the new marks, they are prepared for the summer heat. ERCOT anticipates summer demand to peak near 73,000 MW, while total generation will be close to 82,000 MW.
