Consumer Confidence Dips

The University of Michigan measure of consumer confidence dipped in May to 82.9, a dip from 88.4 month-over-month. The reading is the third lowest in three months, but the third highest in the past 12 months.
The Conference Board consumer confidence index was down slightly in May. The present situation index increased but the expectations index dropped.
