Consumer Optimism Bounces Back

The IBD/TIPP Economic Optimism Index in the US rose to 56.6 in July, up from 53.2 in June to reach its second highest mark in 2019. The outlook is a six-month index of consumer sentiment about the economy over the upcoming six months. The index averaged 49.77 from 2001 until 2019, reaching a record high of 62.90 in March of 2002 and a record low of 35.80 in August of 2011.
