Natural Gas Inventory Steady, Prices Slip

According to last week’s EIA report on U.S. natural gas storage, the surplus to the five-year average is holding steady at an average of 417 bcf or about 33%. The last time inventory was close to this level relative to the five-year average was March 10, 2017. NYMEX Henry Hub was trading at $2.50/mmbtu versus today’s levels which are about 40% lower.
