Power Demand Drop Comes into Focus

The latest electric power monthly report from EIA shows a 3.2% reduction in commercial and industrial end-use electricity sales in April 2020 versus the same month in 2019. April is considered the first full month under pandemic conditions. The drop among commercial end-users was 4.4% and 1.5% for industrials.
The rolling 12-month average shows a 3.4% overall drop year-over-year, 2.8% for commercial and 4.2% for industrials. The next report will be published July 24.
