The collapse in electricity demand caused by COVID-19 stay-at-home will reshape power markets, according to several sources cited by the Houston Chronicle. The slowdown will adversely impact uneconomic power plants including coal-fired generation and will create an intensely-competitive market that should benefit renewables, in addition to natural gas.
