Winter’s Last Gasp?
March 13, 2023
The NOAA 8-14 temperature forecast through March 23 calls for below normal temperatures across much of the U.S. It’s one of the few blue maps we have seen this winter as heating demand has been tempered by a steady stream of moderate temperatures. When the weeks have been warm, it’s been an average deficit of 54 heating degree days versus historic norms. When the weather has been cold, it has been average heating demand at 18 HDDs above normal trends.
