Energy Price Volatility Returns

person-pointing-to-charts

Energy markets are once again facing heightened volatility. Geopolitical uncertainty and tighter supply conditions have contributed to shifting market dynamics.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), global oil markets remain in a “period of heightened volatility and uncertainty,” with limited shipping activity and production disruptions contributing to ongoing instability. At the same time, global inventories are being drawn down as supply struggles to meet demand.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) similarly reports that global oil inventories have declined in recent months, tightening balances and contributing to price fluctuations across global markets.
