As energy markets evolve, corporate customers are moving beyond traditional renewable procurement toward more advanced, around-the-clock solutions. A recent ENGIE North America agreement highlights this shift: Aker BioMarine recently signed a 24/7 renewable energy deal, aligning energy consumption with clean generation on an hourly basis.

This approach marks a significant evolution from traditional renewable contracts, which often focus on annual matching through Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). Instead, 24/7 structures aim to match electricity consumption with clean generation in real time, increasing transparency and grid impact.

The move reflects a broader market trend. As large-load customers, especially data-driven industries, scale operations, they are demanding more precise, reliable, and resilient clean energy solutions.
