Crude Oil Moves Keep Fuel Costs in Focus
U.S. gasoline prices eased heading into October after rising through much of September. AAA reported that the national average for regular gasoline fell nearly seven cents from the previous week to $4.41 per gallon on October 1. The September monthly average was $4.33 per gallon. Crude oil prices had also moved back into the $90-per-barrel range, with WTI* settling at $90.42 on September 30.
For businesses with fleets, transportation or logistics exposure, changing fuel prices can affect operating-cost considerations. The recent movement highlights the value of looking beyond a single price point and monitoring the broader commodity conditions that may influence business energy and transportation costs.
