ENGIE Expands Global Onshore Wind Portfolio

ENGIE continues to scale its global renewable portfolio with a major new onshore wind investment. ENGIE has announced the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) for the development of a 900 MW onshore wind farm near Ras Shokeir, in the Gulf of Suez, Egypt.

The project will be developed under a 25‑year build‑own‑operate structure, supported by a long‑term power purchase agreement with the EETC. Financial close is expected by early Q3 2026.

Once fully operational in 2028, the wind farm will bring ENGIE’s installed wind capacity in Egypt to nearly two gigawatts, building on the company’s successful track record delivering large renewable assets ahead of schedule and under budget. The project will be commissioned in phases, with the first 300 MW expected online in December 2027.
