Price Volatility Remains a Key Energy Concern
According to the 2026 Business Energy Census, nearly 74% of aggregators, brokers, and consultants surveyed said they expect higher power prices over the next year, while 69% anticipate greater electricity price volatility. The findings suggest many market participants believe businesses will continue operating in an environment shaped by evolving supply-demand dynamics, infrastructure investment needs, and changing market conditions.
Rather than viewing energy solely as an operating expense, companies are increasingly evaluating how energy market conditions may affect budgeting, operational planning, and broader business objectives.
Developed by ENGIE and Energy Research Consulting Group (ERCG), the annual survey gathered insights from 132 energy advisors who work directly with commercial and industrial customers across competitive energy markets.
