QTS Expands Renewable Energy Procurement in Texas

ENGIE announced a renewable energy agreement with QTS supporting the company’s data center operations in Irving, Texas. The arrangement includes a 48 MWac (megawatt alternating current) solar power purchase agreement paired with a long-term arrangement securing renewable generation from ABEI Energy’s Lubio Solar project in north-central Texas. Together, these agreements further strengthen the long-standing partnership between ENGIE and QTS while expanding ENGIE’s renewable energy footprint in the ERCOT market.

“This project is a meaningful step forward in our renewable energy strategy, supporting the long-term sustainability and operational resilience of our Texas footprint,” said Travis Wright, Vice President Energy and Sustainability, QTS.

According to QTS, the agreement supports the company’s renewable energy strategy and the long-term resilience of its Texas operations through an integrated retail supply arrangement designed to simplify renewable energy procurement.

The announcement reflects a broader focus among large commercial and industrial energy users on securing energy solutions that support operational requirements, business objectives, and long-term planning. As organizations evaluate energy needs in a changing market environment, many are exploring approaches that combine renewable generation, retail supply, and energy management services.
