Think Energy donates $5,000 to support Pediatric Cancer Research
Gift Part Of Sponsorship Of Interactive Heart Sculpture In NYC’s Times Square
HOUSTON, TEXAS, May 1, 2012 – Think Energy, the GDF SUEZ Energy Resources business established to serve small commercial electricity customers, announced today it is donating $5,000 to Hope & Heroes Children’s Cancer Fund as part of its February sponsorship of an interactive heart sculpture in New York City’s Times Square.
The donation will support pediatric cancer research and clinical care programs at Columbia University Medical Center.
“We’re privileged to have this opportunity to help in the fight against childhood cancer,” said Deena Morgan, Vice President and General Manager of Think Energy. “Think Energy is committed to supporting programs that focus on child health issues. As a survivor of pediatric cancer myself, and having personally experienced the loss of dear friends to cancer, I am honored to partner with programs such as Hope & Heroes. Hope & Heroes does tremendous work and we are proud to make this contribution to its efforts.
The 10-foot-tall interactive heart sculpture, called “BIG♥NYC,” was part of the Times Square Alliance’s month-long Valentine-themed promotion. As part of Think Energy’s launch into the New York market, the company also encouraged New Yorkers and visitors alike to share their experiences in Times Square by taking photos next to the sculpture and posting them on the Think Energy Facebook page.
