ERCOT Sets Wind-Output Record

ERCOT hit a wind-output record of 16,141 MW on the evening of Friday, March 31, the Texas grid operator said. The record was set at 8:56 p.m., when wind accounted for 39.5 percent of the total electricity demand. The previous high mark was 16,022 MW, which was reached on Dec. 25, 2016. ERCOT reported earlier a new wind penetration record of 50 percent on March 23.
