NYISO: State Has Sufficient Resources To Meet Winter Demand
December 06, 2016
New York State has sufficient electrical capacity to meet this winter’s anticipated demand, NYISO projected. The grid operator anticipates a peak demand of 24,445 MW, up from 23,217 MW last winter, which was milder than the 10- and-30-year averages. New York has an installed electrical generation capacity of 40,092 MW, and the system’s resources – including imports – are expected to approach 43,000 MW this winter.
