Warmest Winter on Record

Below normal temperatures and a dose of early spring snow made headlines last week, but the dynamic will be short-lived.  The 6-10 day forecast from NOAA shows above normal temperatures for major heating demand markets.  Winter 2023-24 was the warmest on record in 130 years for the lower 48 states. 

Killeen, Texas hit 100 degrees on February 26 and more than 1,000 cities broke records that month. El Niño is to blame, according to most meteorologists, as it kept cold air away from the continental U.S.
