January 29, 2018
ERCOT said that winter demand hit a record after severe cold gripped Texas Tuesday night, reaching 65,731 MW between 7 and 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17. That shattered the previous mark of 62,855 set earlier in January. The grid operator said the state had adequate resources to meet the surge.
