Buying Power: You Are Not Alone

In our latest web poll, we explored how many people are typically involved in choosing an electricity supplier.
Here’s what we found:
- 50% of respondents said 2–4 people are involved in the decision.
- 30% said it’s just 1 person.
- 20% reported 5 or more people are part of the process.
These results from the 30-person sample highlight that while energy procurement is often a team effort, it’s usually handled by a small group. Half of all respondents rely on a compact team, suggesting a balance between collaboration and efficiency.
Interestingly, nearly a third of organizations still rely on a single decision-maker—likely smaller businesses or those with centralized operations. Meanwhile, one in five involve larger committees, which may reflect more complex procurement processes in larger enterprises.
Whether decisions are made by individuals or teams, the diversity in responses reflects a range of organizational structures and priorities across industries.
