EIA: Spot Gas Spike in ‘24

The EIA forecasts that the average price of spot natural gas in 2024 will jump by 51 cents year-over-year to $3.12/mmbtu.  The spike comes as gas will lose share of US electricity generation for the first time in three years. 

LNG exports, however, are forecast to jump to 13.15 bcf/d in 2024, up from 11.62/mmbtu in 2023 and signaling the biggest jump in waterborne energy in five years.
