First U.S. Offshore Wind Project to Be World’s Largest

The Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project will be the first offshore wind project in U.S. federal waters. At a planed 12 MW, it will also be the world’s largest. The project could be online in 2020. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that U.S. coastal waters have the potential to generate more than 2,000 GW.
