Meteorologists are predicting a steady diet of floods, fires, droughts, and general climate crises. A report from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) warns that the Earth is headed towards a benchmark over the next five years that will result in a number of crises. WMO scientists predict a 44% probability that temperatures will keep rising toward the critical 1.5-degree Celsius benchmark over the next five years.

There is a 90% likelihood that one year between 2021-2025 will be the warmest on record, surpassing 2016.
