Gas Surplus Marches On

Working gas in underground storage continues to put distance between current levels and the five-year maximum and minimum range.  Last week’s EIA report saw a rare injection for this timestep.  In fact, double-digit withdrawals are more common for early March. At 2,332 Bcf, storage is 306 Bcf above the five-year maximum. 

In terms of heating degree days, the U.S. was 36 below normal for the week ending March 15.  New York was 46 lower.  The Mid-Atlantic region was 48 and the East North Central was 70 HDDS lower than normal.
