GDF SUEZ Subsidiary Takes on New Name to Align with Parent Company

Recent merger boosts SUEZ Energy Resources’ brand, enhances scale

HOUSTON – June 22, 2009 – SUEZ Energy Resources NA, the retail energy business of GDF SUEZ Energy North America, has changed its name to GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA. The name change reflects the July 2008 merger of its parent company SUEZ with Gaz de France. The name change will not affect company operations, but the retail business will integrate branding and marketing strategies to reflect the new GDF SUEZ brand.

“GDF SUEZ Energy Resources will continue to provide innovative products and services that help our customers control costs and minimize risk,” said Bob Wilson, President and CEO, GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA. Being a part of an even larger global energy group enhances our ability to leverage resources and continue to deliver value within the deregulated retail energy markets.”One of the leading energy suppliers in the world, GDF SUEZ is active across the entire energy value chain, in electricity and natural gas, upstream to downstream. The Group develops its business around a responsible growth model to take up the great challenges of today: responding to energy needs, fighting against climate change, and using resources in the most efficient manner.

GDF SUEZ relies on diversified supply resources as well as flexible and highly efficient power generation in order to provide innovative energy solutions to individuals, cities and businesses. The Group employs 200,000 individuals worldwide and achieved revenues of more than $120 billion in 2008.
