Greater Philadelphia Chamber Welcomes GDF SUEZ Energy Resources as New Member

Membership Reflects Commitment to Serving Commercial, Industrial and Institutional Customers in Region

Philadelphia – April 27, 2010 – GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA, the retail energy business of GDF SUEZ Energy North America and the second-largest provider of non-residential electricity services in the United States, has been granted membership to the President’s Circle of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. In addition to its member companies in Pennsylvania, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber also serves businesses in New Jersey and Delaware.

Robert Wilson, President and CEO of GDF SUEZ Energy Resources, said the decision to seek membership in the Chamber reflects the company’s commitment to serve business and institutional electricity customers in Greater Philadelphia, where rate caps will expire at the end of 2010.

GDF SUEZ Energy Resources recently announced plans to enter four Pennsylvania competitive retail electricity markets this year, which will bring more options for pricing and products to commercial, industrial and institutional customers in the PECO, MetEd, Penelec, and Allegheny Power (West Penn) service territories.In preparation for the shift from capped electricity rates to competitive market rates, GDF SUEZ Energy Resources began pricing transactions on April 1 for services that begin in January 2011.
