Renewables Set New U.S. Record

Renewable energy sources provided over 25% of US electricity generation in the first six months of 2022, according to the latest issue of EIA’s Electric Power Monthly report. The total surpasses the agency’s previous yearly projections.
Renewable energy sources increased electrical output by 18.45% compared to the same period last year. Earlier in August, EIA projected renewables to provide 22% of US electricity in 2022.
For the first half of 2022, electricity generation increased by 24.67% for wind and by 27.72% for solar.
