Texas Buyers See Reward in Risk

Electricity buyers in ERCOT are showing an increased interest in index and flex type products. For the second consecutive week, Texas decision makers have requested index and/or flex pricing that reflects 20% or more of overall pricing requests. Year to date, the average risk appetite in ERCOT has been 15%. It was 13% during the same week one year ago.

The risk appetite gauges above reflect the mix of fixed, flex and index volume that were priced on behalf of customer requests in the period. Total annual MWh priced represents 292,628,125 for customers with peak demand above 750 KWh.
