U.S. Economy Shrinks

The Bureau of Economic Analysis reported last week that the U.S. economy shrank at an annual rate of 1.4% in the first quarter of 2022. It was the first drop in GDP since the second quarter of 2020. The Bureau pins the decline on lower exports, increased imports, government spending and business inventories.
