Business leaders are growing more confident and have little concern about costs of the energy transition.  The latest measure of CEO confidence by the Conference Board, in collaboration with The Business Council, improved to 53 for Q1 2024.  This is an increase from 46 in Q4 2023 and marks the highest level of optimism since Q1 2022.

CEOs rated political uncertainty as the greatest challenge for US businesses according to 51% of the 138-person sample. Costs related to the energy transition were ranked as the top challenge by 3% of respondents. Nearly 40% expect conditions in their industry to improve in the next six months, while 36% expect overall economic conditions to improve over the same period.
