Consumer Confidence Rebounds in May

Consumer confidence in the U.S. increased in May. The University of Michigan index increased to 73.7 in May, a bump from the eight-year low in April of 71.8. May’s reading surpassed expectations of 68. Trading Economics forecasts readings of 50 by the end of the quarter, 76 after 12 months, 88 in 2021, and 95 in 2022.
